Seongnam Development Corporation (President Hwang Ho-Yang) participated in the "2018 Fair Player Club Summit and
Fair Play Pledge Ceremony", hosted by UN Global Compact Network Korea (GCNK) and sponsored by the Ministry of
Trade, Industry and Energy and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel on
Friday, March 7, 2018.
Many representatives of government agencies, public institutions, and private companies attended and the event was a
great success. UN Global Compact is the largest voluntary international agreement which encourages companies to
participate in global sustainable and balanced development based on the ten principles of human rights, labor,
environment, andanti-corruption and provides substantial methods to internalize the principles into business
management.
As one of the projects of Siemens Integrity Initiative and the World Bank in 24 countries, Fair Player Club was launched
in 2016 pursuing the spirit of fair play in business through ethical management and compliance to business community.
In order to disseminate anti-corruption culture within a company, it introduces anti-corruption trends of the international
society, provides anti-corruption self-diagnosis tools, and supports corporate risk management and capacity building
through the field-based compliance and ethical management education with research study and awareness promotion.
This Fair Player Club's anti-corruption declaration ceremony aims for building collective action between government and
corporations and pursuing for fair and clean business.
Hwang, Ho-Yang, President of Seongnam Development Corporation, who attended the ceremony said, "The idea that
ethical management is the basis for creating a righteous corporate culture will not change in the future.”
He also said that “As a UNGC member, we will actively participate in the achievement of 17 Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) in the three human-centered areas, targeted by 2030.”
Seongnam Development Corporation received an approval of UNGC in 2013 from the UN Headquarters as a
state-owned enterprises in Gyeonggi Province for the first time.
